Cycle paths

Cycling paths in the Vendée are highly developed: all along the coast, paths are reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. Numerous paths follow a multi-faceted coastline of forests, dunes, marshes, beaches, lagoons and rocky coasts...

There are several routes from Jard

<1/ From Jard to Bourgenay

You'll pass through the marshes before arriving at Talmont with its fortified castle. You can continue on to the port of Bourgenay, then return via the Veillon lagoon (a remarkable Vendée site). You'll have the chance to discover the small oyster-farming port of La Guittière and sample some oysters with the glass of white wine that goes with them!

And then return to Jard along the small signposted paths through the marshes to reach our campsite at La Pomme de Pin in Jard.

From Jard to Longeville

Between agricultural plains and national forest, the cycle path has a charm all of its own. This family-friendly ride takes you through St Vincent sur Jard, where you can stop off to visit the Musée Clémenceau.

Continuing on, you'll skirt the beach and dunes along the coast to Longeville sur Mer. If you're not too tired, you can push on to La Tranche, but the return journey may be harder, especially if you have a headwind.

At Longeville

You're at the gateway to the Marais Poitevin and will have the opportunity to take a short boat trip through the marshes or enjoy the large sandy beach at Le Rocher and the surf spot at Bud.

Of course other rides can be made using the other cycle paths linking the various villages in the region.

The Vendée has one of the most extensive networks of cycle paths in France.

From our campsite, you have very easy access to these cycle paths.

A map is available at the campsite reception.
